Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of great advice,
Lots of people have good thoughts
Which is very nice.
I got home today, a tired man
With not a lot of snap.
But I can write this note now
After a three hour nap. a three hour nap.
Today was a good day and all went well, but I was tired when I got home. Hence the nap.
I wanted to acknowledge the fact that people, reading and internet videos have offered a constant stream of advice about this cancer journey.
For example, in the last 24 hours, I have heard, read or saw advice on dry mouth, research in Georgia, Essiac tea, Iodine, stress, my spine, vaccines, tooth cavity fillings, and homeopathy.
The list is a lot longer for the past week.
Some of these things are tactical, others have longer term implications for this journey.
The tactical things are easy to assimilate. The bigger issues take time and thought.
My 8th chemo is on this coming Tuesday and a week later, I will have a petscan to see where things stand. At that point, we will make a decision as to how to proceed and whether any alternate therapies are worth pursuing.
There are a lot of choices. Ben Bailey tells contestants on Cash Cab to "Choose Wisely." Pray that we will.
